Today browser-maker Opera releases an interesting infographic about Opera Mini Android users in Indonesia. The country is the second biggest user-base of that particular browser in the world, so there is definitely some gem to find there. The infographic takes a look at which smartphones Indonesians are using, as well as fun facts about how those phones are being used. All that data is gathered in the past year.
Overall, there has been an increase of 46 percent in Opera Mini’s total user-base in Indonesia. But Opera records 182 percent growth in smartphone usage of its cross-platform mobile browser in the country, and scores an impressive 189 percent growth when it comes to users on the Android platform.
Top gadgets in Indonesia
Before looking at the full infographic, it’s worth noting that the top ten handsets in Indonesia are those which are priced under the IDR 2.3 ລ້ານ ($230) mark, with nine of them being Samsung models. ໄດ້ full report explains that the top five handsets in Indonesia are the Samsung Galaxy Y, Samsung Galaxy Mini, Samsung Galaxy Mini Tab 2, Smartfren Andromax-i, and Samsung Galaxy Y Duos.
For the top 100 devices list, first and second spots are taken by Samsung and Sony. But third spot goes to local brand Cross, which shows how consumers still believe in locally made products.
Top websites in Indonesia
When it comes to the top sites visited by Indonesians using the browser, Google, ເຟສບຸກ, Blogspot, WordPress, and YouTube dominate. The only local site managing a top spot is news site Detik in sixth place. The report also highlights that Facebook makes about 68 percent of total pages viewed by Opera Mini Android users in Indonesia. Indonesians are definitely very social lads and ladies.
